Running out of room? Here’s a way to clear up your email without losing any messages.

Steps

  1. Open your email account.
  2. Delete as many emails as you see fit, but don’t empty the “trash can”.
  3. Delete all empty folders.
  4. Once you’ve done this, you should have all the room you want, and can still access the deleted emails as long as you don’t empty the bin.
  5. Unwanted spam should be reported, that way whenever that person sends mail, it doesn’t waste valuable space in your inbox.
  6. If you can, get a larger inbox. Gmail offers some 6700 mb so far- more than enough for the average person.

Tips

  • Keep important emails undeleted.

Warnings

  • You may lose your emails if not careful. In Yahoo! mail, and in Gmail, the trash can is periodically emptied.
  • Don’t let anyone else use your email account.
  • Make sure your recycle bin does not count towards your email quota.
